Hello, Is It Me You're Looking For?

I'm late, I'm Late, For a Very Important Date! And that is for my delivery of the June '10 "Must Haves"! This month I feel there is so much to be looked upon before we get into fashion, restaurants, and what's in; let's make sure to also take a look remember that I always list the #1 must have is friends and that is for a reason. With those loving people around to make you laugh until your stomach hurts and watch as you make mistakes and get right back up and do it all over again, cry with them over the happy and the hard times, and be there while their heart is broken in two; Well then we don't really need much else. But let's get on with the list because if your going to fall you might as well do it at the right place and in the most fabulous shoes you own!

10. Glee-Showstoppers. I know, you probably knew that was coming but in all seriousness this album has absolutely moved me. Unlike the 1st part of last seasons music, I feel as through Glee took a different route for the second part of the season by covering a generous amount of gorgeous ballads. The 5th Dimension, Lionel Richie, U2, Luther Vandross, and a handful of outstanding musicals. Also featured are Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel. Amazing!!!

9. Peroxide Blonde. I, myself, tend to keep my hair a pretty sunny blonde because if I go in the sun it gets pretty white and too much for me. But the trend of the moment is to go as blonde as you absolutely can. This look is amazing if you can pull it off. It takes confidence, a tad of an edgier wardrobe, and an amazing colorist.

8. Essie’s "Turquoise and Caicos" Nail Lacquer. Don't need to say much. It's great and I am still all about the greens and this is a great one. Also try OPI's "Teal Me If You Can & Catch Me In Your Net", Chanel's "Jade". Yes these were fall trends. But they are great so when a good one comes along just keep with it. I'm still a huge fan of Lincoln Park After Dark and Russian Navy(best color ever in my opinion).

7. Switching it Up. Try something different even if it's just changing up your wardrobe a hint. It will make you feel fresh and young. And if you really could use a change switch up your job, start your own business, move to a new city, or go after that dream that you still can't get out of your head when you were 10.

6. Eminem: Recovery. Eminem is a phenomenal artist. An absolute genius that cannot be reckoned with. In his 7th album Recovery, releasing June 22nd, he is going to use a more emotionally driven take. I believe I have mentioned that his album released last June, Relapse, had a major impact on me and others I know who are dealing with addiction and depression. I'm sure Recovery will even be a more positive influence. To me, listening to him speak the truth about what he felt and how he feels now really comforts me. Just listen to his single "Not Afraid." Goes straight to the heart.

5. Shoes That Pop. Solid with a solid equals gorgeous. Take your little back dress collection and add a fashionista twist to it fast by pairing it with a colored stiletto. This saves you money and time. Very simple way to look ahead of the game. You can also use this with your 'little white dress' that I mentioned was so in for Summer 2010. Thinks greens, blues, reds, pinks, and purples. You'll love this look. I promise.

4. Elizabeth & James Wrap Dress. This black dress is not your ordinary black dress. It goes above and beyond in every way possible. It can even be worn 6 different ways! I saw the dress on a hanger and passed it a few times. Then I just grabbed it and agreed to try it on. BEST dress a woman can own. If you are cautious of curves this may not be the way to go. The dress shows absolutely everything and the fabric, which is a stretchy silk, including being quite see through in some lighting. It's almost like wearing nothing but a skin tight nothing that grabs your curves. No bra or undergarments permitted. Your bf or gf will LOVE this! $395 and worth double!

3. The Tony Awards. Ahhhh soo excited! The Tony's always make me giddy. I mean what's better; all of the best in Musical Theatre and Theatre all in one place with live performances and awards! In high school when the Lion King opened the show, I was soo moved by the performance that I cried for 20 minutes. This Sunday @8pm!!! Learn it, Live it, Love it.

2. iPhone 4g. And yes this means I am finally getting myself a new phone! I will keep my original because I believe it may be extinct(Is anyone else still using the original 4GB?) The new version of the iPhone is sick. You can edit your videos, talk 1 on 1 with the built in web cam, and has a cute new square thin shape. Out June 22nd. To avoid those obnoxious Apple Store lines, you can start reserving yours on the 15th.

1. Best Friends!!!!!

Peace & Love

I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane

It's officially summer!!! Well to me I started in the beginning of April! And with summer comes lots of lovely vacations(tell your boss that you'll have a breakdown if you don't get at least 3-4 weeks off). Now since I am going to consider myself a professional traveler at the moment, I have a lot of wonderful travel tips that can help you our where ever you may be headed!

Being a very lucky gal, I have been fortunate to have last summer and this summer at my fingertips to do whatever I please(unless one my freelance jobs interrupts). Now if you are like me, I always say "if you going to go.....you might as well stay a while." With that being said you have to have much in order when leaving. (Having all of your bills in order, having the correct funds in your account to be taken out, having someone to feed your cat and someone to look after the dogs, and all those other "adult" things we must do.) You'll likely be with your friends or your significant other and that also helps in case you're having a panic while packing. "I just now I'm missing something" is always said when I am walking out the door but as soon as I get to the airport and am sitting in Starbucks I realize the only thing missing are my headphones for my iPhone(bought 2 pair on my way to Cali and another on my way home from Florida. And that's just this summer!) I'm also known for literally just picking up and going. Which requires a fast pack, and a fast flight purchase. Let's begin with packing! (BTW I hate/scared of driving so I almost always fly.)

I don't give a crap if it costs $25 to check my bags. They will be getting checked. A few times I have made the mistake of doing the carry on, which now means leaving it plane side before you get on. For some this may be fine but I have 2 bulging discs in my back that do not agree with carrying or wheeling luggage around. This is an important topic because you must know how much your airline is going to charge you both ways and add it into your flight fee. Also add in your extending parking funds if you plan on leaving your car at the airport. As my carry on I usually always do a wardrobe bag. Do you really want your cocktail dresses or suits rolled up in your suitcase. I don't think so, unless you plan on going to the dry cleaner to get everything steamed(which sometimes you still must do if you are attending a big event or wedding.) And what is in your suitcase and where?! Play around with it and you only have a 50 pound leeway so you must get it right. Here is what I do and it's done the job.
1. shoes on bottom. stilettos pit perfectly into the little crevices.
2. fill every empty spot on the bottom where your shoes don't hit with small objects. I do sunglasses(in their case of course), underwear, swimsuits, camera and mini cams, hair bows, and so on.
3. roll instead of fold all clothing
4. leave an empty hole for your make up bag
5. Cardigans on top lying flat with 1 fold
Now on the outside pockets.
1. hairdryer(if that doesn't fit then shove it on the inside side of suitcase)
2. plastic zip lock of ALL products (I had decided not to use a bag on my way home from LA and had to take half of it to the dry cleaner) Not a fun bill to pay!
3. jewelry in it's cases and bags
4. medications that if your luggage gets lost you can live without for a couple days. Sleeping, anxiety, and anything else that can cause withdrawal, KEEP IN YOUR PURSE.
5. Nail polishes

Alright I may have missed some things but that's ok. Hopefully you get the point. Keep your chap stick, sunglasses, glasses, headphones, and a pony tail holder near at all times! As for the phone charger, some pack, some keep it on them, it's up to you. And of course the packing items vary due to where you are headed. You're not going to bring a dress bag to Hilton Head for a week, unless you are attending a wedding while there. And you're not going to pack your swimsuits if you are headed to NYC, when the only two rooftop pools(although they are fab) that I can think right off the top of my head are Gansevoort and Soho House. So what I am trying to say to pack for the location.

Are you going to NYC, DC, or LA? Then as a tourist you should always have cash on hand. It was my 1st time to LA so I didn't worry about cash but I found it to be quite similar to NYC with all of the privately owned convenience stores that only except cash. Along with the amazing taco stands! They are to die! And NYC is the exact same with food and mag vendors, chinatown, gray's papaya(yumm), and convenience stores. Everywhere else now a days pretty much accepts cards. On top of the cash rule, you have to remember you will be walking a lot. And in the evening you will be fine dining and attending fabulous parties so you really must bring it all. LA is the only place where you can in front of Fred Segal and see the beach at the same time. Soo amazing!

Headed to the beach? Throw in all your flip flops, sundresses, coverups, swimwear, and sunscreen in your suitcase. Don't even bother with the stilettos or make up. This is your time to relax! And laying around watching DVD's and playing yatzee are actual priorities. Unless you're heading to South Beach, which you would want to follow the next instructions. Vegas huh? Pack glamorously. The pool parties there are even dress to impress. So throw on the skimpy bikini and stilettos and look glam. Same goes with the nightlife.

I will even give you an outline on what to bring if you are coming to Pittsburgh, PA for some reason. Now even though I am a tad over this town, I do love coming back to it when I have just been in a small town. You most likely will go see sme kind of sporting event. It's just what Pittsburgh does. The Strip District, Shadyside, and the Southside are wonderful for walking around, shopping, and restaurants. Getting a Primanti's Brother sandwich is a must. People actually travel here just to go to a Primanti's. And the nightlife can be very chill with bars and bands or luxurious with the many ultra lounges and nightclubs where you can celebrate with a private table or bed.

So that's that with that. Now as for out of the states, you may need to help me out. I, personally, love city vaca's. Lot's to do! But I also love chilling in a beach town where there is absolutly nothing to do but enjoy the weather and your company! Either way, I hope you all get to take a little time off and go somewhere you enjoy and can destress.

What are your favorite places to visit? Do you like to dive or fly? Beach or City?

Peace & Love

June 04 - Britney with family out for lunch at Johnny Rockets in Calabasas

Britney Spears´ Conservatorship In Name Only

Sources connected with Britney Spears tell TMZ ... her conservatorship has essentially become a formality -- because Britney now makes almost all of her personal decisions herself.

Britney's dad, Jamie Spears, is the official conservator and has the power to make life decisions for his daughter. But our sources say Jamie has quite intentionally pulled back and is allowing Britney to control her life -- where she goes, what she does with her kids, etc.
As for when the conservatorship will end -- it's sketchy. Late last year, sources told TMZ the plan was to end the conservatorship around this time. ut it now looks like the conservatorship will last at least 'til the end of summer. We're told for his part, Jamie would like to set Britney free and get back home to Louisiana.
Sources tell us the court-appointed psychiatrist has conducted a new evaluation and is submitting his findings to the court. Everyone involved -- including the shrink -- say Britney is like a different person from the one who was on a 5150 in January 2008.
One final note -- although Britney is making her own life decisions, the conservatorship over Britney Spears "the business" will stay in place indefinitely.

Perez Hilton talks about Britney's new album

"Actually, I have heard stuff about Britney's new album. I know shes working on music AND Ive actually heard a few songs from Britney's new album and let me tell you, that shit is HOT. Hot hot hot hot hot. Britney has this one song I heard that Im obsessed with. I didnt get a copy of it, it was played for me once, and after just that one listen, I was like 'this is one of her best songs ever!'. Yes, the song is better than anything on Circus, and I love a lot of those Circus tracks. Its as good as Toxic. So I cannot WAIT for Britney to release her album, which will hopefully be next year. Early next year, hopefully."

June 03 - Britney With Takashi Murakami

Takashi Murakami is one of the most thoughtful-and thought-provoking-Japanese artists of the 1990s. His work ranges from cartoony paintings to quasi-minimalist sculptures to giant inflatable balloons to performance events to factory-produced watches, T-shirts, and other products, many emblazoned with his signature character, Mr. DOB.

Takashi Murakami was born in Tokyo in 1963 and received his BFA, MFA and PhD from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He has had recent solo shows at Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York (2003); Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Paris (2002); Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo (2001); Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2001); and Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, Paris (2001).
In addition to his work as an artist, Takashi Murakami is a curator, entrepreneur, and a student of contemporary Japanese society. In 2000, Murakami curated an exhibition of Japanese art titled Superflat, which acknowledged a movement toward mass-produced entertainment and its effects on contemporary aesthetics. Murakami is also internationally recognized for his collaboration with designer Marc Jacobs to create handbags and other products for the Louis Vuitton fashion house.
Takashi Murakami's work has been exhibited in prestigious museums all over the world, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and a recent solo retrospective exhibition at the Bard College Museum of Art. Through his work, Murakami has played with these oppositions in East and West, past and present, high art and low culture while remaining consistently amusing and accessible. His work morphs the worlds of popular contemporary Japanese cartoons and historic Japanese painting (he is classically trained, with a Ph.D. in the traditional nihon-ga style). His recurring character, Mr. DOB, appears on t-shirts, posters, key-chains, etc. world-wide and has even come to life in the form of one of these 3-D sculptures. Murakami has also curated "Super Flat" an exhibition of contemporary Japanese artists.
