I Eat Boys Up, You Better Run

The Must Must Must Haves of June 2011. Let's get started!

10. Rihanna Tix-I'm a teeny bit in love with and obsessed with her right now! She just began her tour earlier this week so make sure you catch her when she's in a city near you. I mean how HOT was her S&M performance with Britney the other week! To die! Also just a teeny side note.....It's so much more fun to be bad. "Chains and Whips Excite Me"

9. Ray-Ban Wayfarer Tie Dye Sunglasses-I know I know we all have Wayfarers BUT today I tried on the neon tie dyed pair and they were just fabulous. I have to get them and like my others, I know I'll wear then all the time for years so really they aren't a bad investment. They are always in. $145

8. Bikini Wax-Yeah I know this sucks but it's soo much better then have to shave down there every couple days. So suck it up, grow it out, pop some Alive, smoke some chronic and go to the spa. Your bf will appreciate this very much so as well! Double bonus!

7. Beach Bum Baby-If you're lucky enough like I am and get to live by the beautiful Pacific or Atlantic ocean you MUST take advantage and get to the beach at least 4-5 a week. Even if it's just for a late night walk in the sand. Most would die to have the amazing Venice and Santa Monica beach 5 minutes from your apt!

6. Bikes & Skateboards-It's summer peeps, so if you live in a town where you have the option to ride or skateboard around then do so. It's not only great exercise but it's a great way to mentally escape for a while. It's just you and your iPod! (GREAT when in NYC, LA, and other large cities where you are able to walk to a lot of things!)

5. Dance-'hahahaha DANCE', as Ke$ha would say. Instead of the gym, yoga, pilates, personal training, and so on........get old school and go take a beginners Open class at your nearest Studio. Some cities this might not be an option but If you are lucky enough to have a good city that values the arts, you will find a place. Start easy because dancing is a lot harder than it looks baby! I've been dancing for 25 years and I am still winded after a good 1 1/2 comtemp or hip hip or ballet class. 4. Huge Hair Pieces-Whether you through on a headband with a gigantic bow or a huge Carrie Bradshaw style Flow, you are making a statement. It can take any bland outfit from blah to 'DUH'! Today I tried on a GORGEOUS Tasha headband. It was very gaga with feathers and a bow that practically covered my head. It was love at 1st site. That was the "Sinamay Feather Bow Headband', available at high end retail stores for $38. If you're not as crazy as I am don't fret. Beautiful tiny flower clips, or dainty rhinestoned pins will give off the same effect!

3. Neons- Shoes, nail polish, skinny jeans, hoodies, etc. Rock it out. Such a fun old school trend that you can just add to make your outfit 'pop'. Don't feel like rocking out neon pink jeans??? No problem. Try a polish. O.P.I.'s Atomic Orange is a fab way to start!

2. Twitter-facebook is soo over. I actually deleted mine then brought it back and am now about to delete it again. It's way to invasive but Twitter on the other hand is just the opposite! You say what you want, no one can see what everyone writes back to you, no photo albums, and you meet AWESOME people that love the same things you do. I finally gave in and am tweeting my life away so you should to. follow me @Who_AreYouAgain

Hotter than the A-List, Sicker than the Remix

Now that I have been in Los Angeles, California for 3 months, I've been dying to tell you some SoCal trends and secrets. Some very good and some just okay. Since I have moved on from finding true love in riding my bicycle and hitting up taco stands when I 1st arrived in the city, I want to take you on a deeper level of my experience! Read carefully and enjoy! (P.S. Don't forget to watch 'Till the World Ends" on Vevo.)

Ohh Southern California......or in my case Ohhh Hollywood. It's like the 2003 VMA's when Madonna sang "Hollywood, Hollywood, How Could it Hurt you When it Looks soo Good." She made a point. It's looks good.....ohh does it look good but there are a lot of things that can hurt you. I have not been hurt in Hollywood yet but WHOA is this a different land. Ever since I was a tiny one I had always wanted to go to California. My father would ask me if I could go anywhere in the world where it would be and I always said Hollywood. So tempting with the stunning palm trees lining almost every street and then there was the show business aspect of it. It seemed like this far away land where all the magic happened and nothing could stand in your way. So a million years later, here I am and I am kind of addicted. I love the chilly nights with the hot days, the tacky flashing lights in Hollywood and the Sunset Strip, and the absolutely stunning area called Beverly Hills. It's dreamlike. But what do you do to make this dreamlike place your reality? You have to put in a TON of work! The unemployment rate in CA is currently at around 12.5%. With this, there are about 50+who knows people going after 1 job. Connections are KEY out here and if you really don't know many people who are successful and have good connections, you are completely on your own. There is nothing wrong with that but its a tad easier when you know that special someone. Let's move away from the negative aspects such as jobs and apartments and show you the best aspects of this beautiful city! 1st off you're living in Los Angeles! A place where very many people from the east coast rarely get to see. You get to be where it all goes down; the center of show business. While there is that going on, you are also in a beach town with Venice, Santa Monica, Marina Del Ray, Malibu, and many more. The beaches here are GORGEOUS! Like right out of a storybook. I spend a lot of time in Santa Monica and Venice taking walks in the sand, watching the sunset, and just enjoying the ocean breeze. I love it there.

Then there is the Sunset Strip. Famous for the nightlife, such as The Olive, Sky Bar(inside the Mondrian), Purple Bar(inside The Standard), The Viper Room, Rainbow Room, Bar Marmont(Inside the Chateau Marmont), and of course Teddys inside of the infamous Roosevelt Hotel. It's unbelievably amazing and the cars you see will blow your mind. Bently's, Lamborghini's, Porshe's, Ferrari's, Aston Martin's, and of coursee the usual Mercedes and BMW's. It's definitely out of this world and something I have never seen before. Rooftop Pool Parties are also very hot. All these places you have a VERY high chance of seeing a party girl or party boy that will be in the tabloids. All I can say is that the Sunset Strip is one of a kind and should be experienced by all at least a couple times in your life!

And I Hope the Sun Shines

I'm in a deep infatuation. Not with one of the usually assholes I date but rather on the new somewhere I reside; California. I haven't pinpointed what it is that makes me smile all day or why, for me, the grass is greener on the West Coast but something about it just has me on a wonderful natural high. It could be my friends that I have here and the fabulous other souls I meet throughout the city. It could be the constant forecast of 75 degrees and Sunny. It could be that I still don't believe I'm living where anything I could want is at my fingertips?

About every other corner has fruit stands with the most delicious fruit you will ever eat, along with, the European bakeries, the extremely fresh seafood, the taco stands along with delicious Mexican made churros. And also let's not forget but LA has some of the best cuisine you can find. That could all have a say.

Or is it the shopping? Melrose anyone? With stores surrounding you like Barney's, Fred Segal, Neimaen's, Kitson, La Perla, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Fendi, Prada, Bloomies, and many many more boutiques that a woman would die to be able to shop at. Being the fashion guru I am, it;s pretty much heaven. I die.

But what really did it is what I love about Los Angeles the most, the beaches. The pacific ocean is so different. The color is a deeper blue, and the waves don't mess around. On the weekends we usually go hang out in Venice Beach. There we have a whole bike lane from Santa Monica down to Venice, right alongside the beach, lots of walking along the ocean and getting sand all over out feet, can't believing it's only February. Or it could be the way I sit on the sand and watch the sun go down and watch the Santa Monica Pier put on their light show with the Farris Wheel and Roller Coaster. Photoed above is the 3rd Street Promenade, where shoppers go to heaven WHILE overlooking the ocean. Very charming.

But truthfully I don't think it's any of those that made me love this city this much, I think it was just luck that I found my way here and I knew when I got off the plane there was going to be no looking back. California has changed me a lot already. You can be yourself here and carry no secrets. And the best part about it is I kissed all my anxiety away (besides you K). I just want to say that if you ever have the opportunity to leave where you are from I strongly advise it. Even for a year. I feel beyond free and it's the best feeling ever.

I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane

It's officially summer!!! Well to me I started in the beginning of April! And with summer comes lots of lovely vacations(tell your boss that you'll have a breakdown if you don't get at least 3-4 weeks off). Now since I am going to consider myself a professional traveler at the moment, I have a lot of wonderful travel tips that can help you our where ever you may be headed!

Being a very lucky gal, I have been fortunate to have last summer and this summer at my fingertips to do whatever I please(unless one my freelance jobs interrupts). Now if you are like me, I always say "if you going to go.....you might as well stay a while." With that being said you have to have much in order when leaving. (Having all of your bills in order, having the correct funds in your account to be taken out, having someone to feed your cat and someone to look after the dogs, and all those other "adult" things we must do.) You'll likely be with your friends or your significant other and that also helps in case you're having a panic while packing. "I just now I'm missing something" is always said when I am walking out the door but as soon as I get to the airport and am sitting in Starbucks I realize the only thing missing are my headphones for my iPhone(bought 2 pair on my way to Cali and another on my way home from Florida. And that's just this summer!) I'm also known for literally just picking up and going. Which requires a fast pack, and a fast flight purchase. Let's begin with packing! (BTW I hate/scared of driving so I almost always fly.)

I don't give a crap if it costs $25 to check my bags. They will be getting checked. A few times I have made the mistake of doing the carry on, which now means leaving it plane side before you get on. For some this may be fine but I have 2 bulging discs in my back that do not agree with carrying or wheeling luggage around. This is an important topic because you must know how much your airline is going to charge you both ways and add it into your flight fee. Also add in your extending parking funds if you plan on leaving your car at the airport. As my carry on I usually always do a wardrobe bag. Do you really want your cocktail dresses or suits rolled up in your suitcase. I don't think so, unless you plan on going to the dry cleaner to get everything steamed(which sometimes you still must do if you are attending a big event or wedding.) And what is in your suitcase and where?! Play around with it and you only have a 50 pound leeway so you must get it right. Here is what I do and it's done the job.
1. shoes on bottom. stilettos pit perfectly into the little crevices.
2. fill every empty spot on the bottom where your shoes don't hit with small objects. I do sunglasses(in their case of course), underwear, swimsuits, camera and mini cams, hair bows, and so on.
3. roll instead of fold all clothing
4. leave an empty hole for your make up bag
5. Cardigans on top lying flat with 1 fold
Now on the outside pockets.
1. hairdryer(if that doesn't fit then shove it on the inside side of suitcase)
2. plastic zip lock of ALL products (I had decided not to use a bag on my way home from LA and had to take half of it to the dry cleaner) Not a fun bill to pay!
3. jewelry in it's cases and bags
4. medications that if your luggage gets lost you can live without for a couple days. Sleeping, anxiety, and anything else that can cause withdrawal, KEEP IN YOUR PURSE.
5. Nail polishes

Alright I may have missed some things but that's ok. Hopefully you get the point. Keep your chap stick, sunglasses, glasses, headphones, and a pony tail holder near at all times! As for the phone charger, some pack, some keep it on them, it's up to you. And of course the packing items vary due to where you are headed. You're not going to bring a dress bag to Hilton Head for a week, unless you are attending a wedding while there. And you're not going to pack your swimsuits if you are headed to NYC, when the only two rooftop pools(although they are fab) that I can think right off the top of my head are Gansevoort and Soho House. So what I am trying to say to pack for the location.

Are you going to NYC, DC, or LA? Then as a tourist you should always have cash on hand. It was my 1st time to LA so I didn't worry about cash but I found it to be quite similar to NYC with all of the privately owned convenience stores that only except cash. Along with the amazing taco stands! They are to die! And NYC is the exact same with food and mag vendors, chinatown, gray's papaya(yumm), and convenience stores. Everywhere else now a days pretty much accepts cards. On top of the cash rule, you have to remember you will be walking a lot. And in the evening you will be fine dining and attending fabulous parties so you really must bring it all. LA is the only place where you can in front of Fred Segal and see the beach at the same time. Soo amazing!

Headed to the beach? Throw in all your flip flops, sundresses, coverups, swimwear, and sunscreen in your suitcase. Don't even bother with the stilettos or make up. This is your time to relax! And laying around watching DVD's and playing yatzee are actual priorities. Unless you're heading to South Beach, which you would want to follow the next instructions. Vegas huh? Pack glamorously. The pool parties there are even dress to impress. So throw on the skimpy bikini and stilettos and look glam. Same goes with the nightlife.

I will even give you an outline on what to bring if you are coming to Pittsburgh, PA for some reason. Now even though I am a tad over this town, I do love coming back to it when I have just been in a small town. You most likely will go see sme kind of sporting event. It's just what Pittsburgh does. The Strip District, Shadyside, and the Southside are wonderful for walking around, shopping, and restaurants. Getting a Primanti's Brother sandwich is a must. People actually travel here just to go to a Primanti's. And the nightlife can be very chill with bars and bands or luxurious with the many ultra lounges and nightclubs where you can celebrate with a private table or bed.

So that's that with that. Now as for out of the states, you may need to help me out. I, personally, love city vaca's. Lot's to do! But I also love chilling in a beach town where there is absolutly nothing to do but enjoy the weather and your company! Either way, I hope you all get to take a little time off and go somewhere you enjoy and can destress.

What are your favorite places to visit? Do you like to dive or fly? Beach or City?

Peace & Love
