Classic with a Sense of Madness

The title of this piece is how Mr.Lim describes his work. "Classic with a sense of Madness." I like it. The following are all designs of one of my favorite designers Phillip Lim. Here are some pieces from his 3.1 Phillip Lim collections over the years. Enjoy and try not to faint from all the fabulousness. I died already.

The dress that Kate is wearing is probably one of the greatest pieces I have ever tried on and seen in person. I still think back to that day and wish that dress wads in my closet. It's like I walked out on true love. It is from the Spring 2008 collection if anyone happens to run into it.

The last dress posted is my baby. I'm an extremely lucky girl to be able to call this dress my own. As you can see in the photo, it is truly breathtaking. The back has a large silver exposed zipped and a ruched bottom area. This is something I would grab if my house was on fire. That's how I feel about it.

The only reason I was actually able to see, feel, try on, and purchase some of these pieces is because before all the media, 3.1 Phillip Lim was just in it's beginning stages and was sold at a tiny boutique in Pittsburgh. I knew nothing but the pieces besides they were gorgeous and something I have never seen before. The line was gone after 1 and a half seasons. Phillip Lim won Best new designer and prices escalated. With the original prices being around $400-$500 they were now around $700-$800. Everything went on sale then it was gone. If I could go back in time I would have bought every single piece, but I can't and that was 2 years ago. I hope you enjoy this line as much as I do.
