And the Stars are Just Like Little Fish

I just read the post from last night and I really love it and the photos so if you haven't yet please give it a go. It's kind of funny because as I was doing some shopping today I noticed a huge trend. Is it 1993 again and i didn't know it? If these lines, and I even have to put down my beloved Elizabeth & James, really want to redo the whole "grunge look" again they are really messing it up. To recreate the look of the early '90's all you have to do is go hit up a thrift store or goodwill, grab an awesome REAL vintage tee, a pair of corduroys, and a flannel. It should cost you a total of $5 and that's how that's done. My mother didn't talk to me for years because this is how I shopped. Now tonight was hilarious actually. And believe me, no one loves there designer clothes better than I do, but I was actually repulsed.
So I walk into the Saavy Dept. and at 1st I was pulling cocktails from Roberto Cavalli(Like the fall line), but then as I got deeper into the sea of greys, blacks, browns, and olives, I discovered I was no longer in 2010 but rather had just transferred back to the grunge phase. The grunge phase my my favorite and really has been the only musically influenced trend in the past 20 years. Which saddens me beyond belief. *Sorry miss Gaga. Ohh sorry I forgot about Britney Spears who actually did influence fashion and brought in the low low low rise jeans(soooo hot) and the midriff top. But in all reality fashion and music haven't gone together since the early '90's. What disgusted me is that 1st off I technically have no room to talk when I will fully admit I did purchase a huge white vintagy looking tee at Urban the other day for $38 when i could have walked across the street and prob found a much better one at the Goodwill.

Back to the case here. Sorry Vince, Clu, E & J, and DVF to name a few.....nobody wants your $200 flannels, oversized striped sweaters, cords, or oversized Kurt looking cardi's. And really if you wanted to do that look you would have already had all that stuff anyways. What do i always say are my #1 favorite pieces of clothing? Cardigans. Long cardigans, the rattier looking the better. Well whatever. I hope everyone has fun playing dress up this fall to a time that most people under my age, besides the really fucking cool kids who study music, will know nothing about.

*And MK does it right. Pictured above.

PEACE
S
