To All the Happy Peaople, With Real Nice Lives

It's almost my favorite time of the year, and no I am absolutely not talking about football season. It's almost time for the VMA's!!! I look forward to the MTV video music awards every year and this year is looking pretty good performance wise. Unfortunately we won't have Britney who always just freaking brings it and fucks everyone else with her non stop dance performances-minus 2007 when she was having a case of the crazies. But minus Brit, I am really hoping to see some kick ass performances.

And I know I will because, as I mentioned last week, Kanye West is back from 'self centered, alcoholic, touch of the insane' center and is bringing it to us in a few weeks! I'm pumped. I thoroughly enjoyed his last 2 albums. BUT.......this is always the best about Kanye's VMA performances. Ever since I can remember he gets this big huge knock 'em down performances put together and something ALWAYS gets fucked up. He complains like theres no tomorrow, swears he will never come back, and go home. Then the next year who do think is in the main line up......Kanye West. And the exact same thing happens again. And well we don't want to talk about what he did last year but hey he wanted Beyonce to win and he voiced it.....to all of the world. Hey, it added some entertainment. Now the year that they held them in Vegas, I do think where they put Kanye was pretty messed up. His performance was him having to walk through a crowded nightclub set and do 'Stronger'. It was a hot mess and that's one of my fav songs ever. But at least Britney took the cake that year with her opening the show and well it was just sad.

I do not listen to Beyonce but I will say she always does an excellent job. I particularly liked the 'Baby Boy' performance from 2003. Jay-Z, well he always kills it. Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Rhianna(minus her opening in 2008. Disturbia is up there wit my fav pop songs and well she was just really scary in this and it just didn't work.), Pink, AAR, Chris Brown(sorry but he's still the shit in my eyes. He's untouchable when he is on stage.), Pink, Xtina, and so on are a handful of the VMA regulars and successful artists. Don't worry though because I absolutely did not forget about Madonna, Michael, Snoop, Dre, Janet, Mariah, U2, and other legendary artists. Speaking of legendary artist........did I tell you yet that Britney Spears is the best VMA performer of all time? Ohh ok just thought I'd bring it up again. Another person who just beats everyone else in this game is Justin Timberlake. He's a regular and always seems to be featured on someones track. His 2006 performance with Timbaland I watched on repeat for a good 3 months.

Onto this year. So we have Kanye. And heres to the girl with the most nominations-Lady Gaga. Extremely talented and gifted for sure, but sometimes too insane.....yes! Last year I loved her performance!!! Paparazzi on the piano then she hung herself with a nuse that was magically hanging there and blood started flying out of her eyeballs. I loved it. I love any play, musical, perform ace, ballet, etc where people are hung or wristes are slashes. It's dramatic and extremely artistic. Thumbs up my dear but what will you do this year??? And it better not be with any reference to the Alejandro video. Or Telephone. Everyone was poisoned in that video. I think you should just stear clear and do the into with Alejandro and go straight into a huge performance of Bad Romance. Fingers crossed. I think we have the little baby singing! Justin Beiber! He'll do awesome. Drake. And the ohh so gifted Kesha(cough cough).

But here is where it is really at. It's all about Eminem. He's like Britney in a way, when either of them get on stage it's instant 'awe'. You can't take your eyes off them. They control it and own it. Of course I am thrilled about Eminem, and don't get me wrong, he did very well last year but that wasn't him yet. This is him. He's on top of his shit and really I could not pick one song that he shouldn't sing off his new album Recovery. There is not one even near poorly written or produced track on that album.

Don't fret we'll be talking about this a few more times then it's countdown with my all time favorite performances!

You Should Be Honored By My Lateness

I do a humongous amount of dorky things. It's pretty bad and the worst part of it is that I don't care. I have never cared. I love my nerdiness so much that I am just about to tell you all the incredibly dorky things I do and enjoy. (P.S. Everyone has an inner dorky weirdo loser inside of them. Don't be afraid. Be proud!) haha

1. Okay there are a few instances where I sing so that's why singing will be #1. In my car there are a pile of CD's. Whenever someone is in the car I usually put on a "May 2010 hit list by S" on. My friend Bekah cannot stand these mixes. I made one especially for our roadtrip to Charleston, SC a couple weeks ago and she moaned as soon as she saw this. Anything that says a month with the year on it means nothing but it's a mix with my fav songs on it. NOTHING from that month or year will have any significance. The last one, Bekah, gave a year roundup of "ehh like '04 '05" to. That's pretty good. And if you know me all mixes contain but are not limited to-Spears, Jackson, Timberlake, Dre, Nirvana, Radiohead, Death Cab, Aqualung, Eminem, and a random song from a musical.

Now speaking of musicals.......this is a pretty high up there top secret so I cannot believe I'm telling it but here it goes. In the pile of CD's in the car you will not only find specialty mixes, CD's just bought, but also you will find full musical scores. Who jams to musical showtunes on a roadtrip? I do. When am I most likely to wreck? When listening to musicals. See the problem is is that I get soo into character that I forget I am driving and before you know it my eyes are closed and my arms are up in the air. Musicals currently residing in my vehicle-RENT(I always am Mimi), Chicago, Pippin(random I know), Miss Saigon, Kiss Me Kate(I can't get that "too darn hot" out of my head lately), and of course Wicked.

Now I don't know which would be considered dorkier. My cars Musical Theatre selection or it's Glee collection. I don't know, you tell me. So everyone should know by now that I have a thing for Glee and consider it the best thing since...well ever. I do not do up to the episode weekly mixes so I guess that just made me a lot more cool but from this fall's "Road to Sectionals", I have 3 mixes available in my car(and another 1 in the house). Yes all have the same songs on them but they are of different order. Of course you wouldn't know that because they all being with "Defying Gravity". Another statement that I make on the Glee CD's is the classic use of repeating certain songs. You will find that Defying Gravity, Don't Rain on my Parade, and my fav......the Halo/Walking on Sunshine mashup are on the CD's at least twice. If I like something why should I have to hit the back button to replay it? I've been known to make whole CD's of just one song. If I like something I will want to hear it on repeat please. *That goes out to you Nique! She just loves when I make her CD's with one song. Yep.

Let's take a step out of the car and enter a nightclub. So if you can kind of notice, I'm not really up to date on the music scene. Unless you're one of my favorite artists, I just really don't care. But don't worry I totally know how to jam out without even having heard the song. So we're at a table, everyone's dancing, the champagne is flowing, and the DJ is kicking it. While not in convo, I find it most appropriate to look like you have something totally cool going on; Like rapping. I mean everyone loves a rapper. Especially a SWF rapper. Draws in the guys real nice. When I say "rap" I mean saying "watermelon cantaloupe". Back in 6th grade vocal we learned if you didn't know what the hell was going on and you were live in the chorus to just lip sync watermelon cantaloupe. Those two words are supposed to sound like every word in the english dictionary all mashed into one. You guys might want to write that one down. It's just that cool. Then you scream "hell yeah! I love that new Luda!" Not only do you look cool cause you "knew all the words", and guys are totally gonna think that's hot that you can rap.

Let's bounce. So say you have a wonderful day off, it's dreary outside, and you have not an ounce of work to get done. What's better then spending the next 2-3 hours working on your voice? This is completely normal let me tell you. So I'll pop in my Glee CD and start it off real easy kinda of just getting in the zone. Then it's time for warm ups which are about 20 min. Warm ups are one of my favorite parts! Then you move onto "your songs". For me this includes some great classics all the way up to today's hits. Now I am a mezzo-soprano so I have to be careful nothing I am attempting is too crazy. No Mariah and No Christina. Starting off with Lady Gaga is always a good move. I love to sing Poker Face acapella. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CUYvWTd6oA Now mine doesn't really sound like this but you know I try and that's what matters. Moving right along. Now here's where I get a tad cheesy you could say. I usually sit and sing a nice clean "Everytime" by Brit, Umbrella acapella (Mandy Moore style) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l607rEC8tzM , Violet by Hole(I'm a rocker at heart), and then something happens. My dancing genes go nuts and I take a break from singing and begin to lip sync. Now this section of the day could like last a few hours if I'm real into it. (I totally go into these trances where I forget everything and am just dancing. It's amazing for your spirit and soul cause you're soo high on dancing that nothing can bring you down. Almost as good as you feel when you are performing.) So obviously ya'll know where I'm headed.....the Britney comes on. Slave, Showdown, Circus, Get naked, Toxic, are a few favorite pieces of choreography that I like to do. Now when in heartbreak crisis mode there is a WHOLE different selection of songs but let's just not go there today! Then for the huge finale I always sing..........ta da!!!!!!! The Greatest Love Of All by Whitney!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KjpyHX7X-o Crack is wack! Now don't lie. You know that's your jam too when you sing. It's everyone's classic go all out feel good song to sing!!!

Wow I didn't know I was sooo dorky. I guess this might go on for days. Ohh gosh! More to come tomorrow and if you have any nerdiness that you would like to set free please message or comment and I'll be glad to throw it on in!
..........to be continued.

When You See My Face Hope It Gives You Hell

I'm taking a small break here from my very busy day of singing. After a while I just get frustrated and before I know it I'm lip-syncing and dancing like a porn star to Britney. It just happens. So as that stared to occur I decided I should do something constructive like update my iTunes. So while that does it's thing I thought we should probably discuss an issue I have with facebook.

Do you happen to have a lot of friends? Have you not talked to some of them in quite a while? When is the right time to delete people from your past without being rude. I had a horrible case of the insomnia's last night which left me up till 5am. After wanted to pull my hair out because I have this stupid AA voucher towards my next flight but the flights that I need seem to be a fortume on American right now. Now they do have this "lowest price guarentee" thing but to do it your flight that you find MUCH cheaper on airtran or jetblue has to be basically the SAME EXACT time and transfers that AA would offer. Then on top of it you pay AA all this money and you have to take photographs of the site and screen from the site that offers it lower before you can get your refund. Thing sounds like a pain in my ass to me. I wish I could sell this $200 voucher but it doesn't transfer. Okay now what was I talking about???

Ohh yes......the FB Friends Spring cleaning. Okay so I deleted about 15 people. I was actually trying to go for more like 200 but I feel sooooo bad doing it that I know I'll never get that far. I think all I got rid of were pittsburgh bar scene peeps and promoters. I don't do Pgh nightlife anymore so I have no need for that nonsense and especially all the messages about what's going down this weekend. Then I'll go to delete someone that I didn't even think I knew just to find I have like 134 friends in common. Can't delete them then man! But aside from that there is one great thing about facebook. I have all these AWESOME fans from all around the world!!! And tennis freaks like myself that adore Rafael Nadal to talk to(even though my spanish isn't to great, and my awesome friend Elaine from London who we met over a huge Courtney Love drama and we would both write her. BTW if you've never messaged Courtney on Twitter or Facebook and you are a FAN, please do. She is so sweet and cool. She's very misread. And, I hate to say it, but it is a great way to stay in touch. I'm going to give it another go with the cleaning out this weekend. Maybe even do a little updating......I have been in the Brown Eyed Bombshell group for WVU girls since 2004. I clean out my closet about every 2 months(which is a GREAT other blog I'll write up later) but for some reason I can't let go from my old school style facebook. Do any of you all do regular deletions?

Have a wonderful and beautiful weekend. God Bless!

So Help Me Dress for my Fairy Tale, Can’t Wear Something I Bought on Sale!

I'm in this group on facebook and I don't know if I've been on it since this whole facebook thing started in '04 or if I joined it a couple years after that but it's called "Why Yes, I Do Frequently Burst Out in Song". I sweat this group basically because it fits me to a T. I mean some of the requirements to be in the group are:

Do you ever find people looking at you strangely, only to realize that you've been singing for the last fifteen minutes? Why yes....all the time.

Are you in love with musicals and Disney movies? Beyond obsessed thank you.

Do you re-write they lyrics to songs to make relate to your current situation? Ouch...yep ya caught me.

So as you see, I fit into this group very well. I think singing is just soo much better than talking and if life were more like a musical the sky would be just a little more blue! (I know you're all probably very sick of me saying that. sorry.) So here for you this evening, I present you with a very small portion of my favorite quotes from musicals. These lyrics just make me want to stand up on top of a car and belt it out to the world! I hope you all enjoy and feel free to add, as will I.

"But everything was beautiful at the ballet. Graceful men lift lovely girls in white. Yes, everything was beautiful at ballet. .....That's when I started class"-A CHORUS LINE

"That boy could use some Prozac."-RENT

"Rivers belong where they can ramble. Eagles belong where they can fly. I've got to be where my spirit can run free. Got to find my corner of the sky."-PIPPIN

"It's time to try defying gravity. I think I'll try defying gravity. And you can't pull me down."-WICKED

"I still....I still believe. You will return. I know you will. My heart against all odds.....holds still"-MISS SAIGON

"There's only us. There's only this. Forget, regret. Or life is your's to miss. No other road. No other way. No day but today...."-RENT

"Believe in the music that's inside your heart."-THE WIZ

"Give 'em the old razzle dazzle. Razzle Dazzle 'em. Give 'em the old hocus pocus. Bead and feather 'em. How can they see with sequins in their eyes?"-CHICAGO

"With a thousand sweet kisses, I'll cover you."-RENT

"Don't tell me not to fly, I've simply got to. If someone takes a spill, it's me and not you. Who told you your allowed to rain on my parade!"-FUNNY GIRL

"Into the woods you go again. You have to every now and then. Into the woods no telling when.....be ready for the journey."-INTO THE WOODS

"One singular sensation, every little step she takes."-A CHORUS LINE

"He had it coming. He had it coming. He only had himself to blame. If you'd have been there. If you'd have seen it. I betcha you would have done the same!"-CHICAGO

"Today for you-Tomorrow for me!"-RENT

"In sleep he sang to me. In dreams he came. That voice which calls to me. And speaks my name...."-THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Imagine All the People, Living Life in Peace

Tomorrow may be the end for me. I have 2 cavities and am getting shot up with a lot of Novocaine and hopefully some anesthesia, laughing gas, or pain pills. I've never had a cavity before so of course this is going to be a very dramatic experience(it probably shouldn't be but if you know me it will be.) I called my mother today and asked her if you could drive on Novocaine. She proceeded to laugh and tell me to come back to reality. She often tells me that. I mean not that I live in my own little world or anything but I tend to see things in different lights than others. Yeah, that sounds right. If anyone could give me any warning on how this will go down, I will be highly appreciative.

Now onto the big news. "And Who Are You Again?" raised the fan base my almost 200 more fans this week. I couldn't be more thrilled. I am soo excited and I hope you guys enjoy the blog as much as I do. The best thing about "And Who Are You Again?" is that it is very non judgemental and had no absolute purpose. I write about everything under the sun and I like it that way. I have very deep postings that I cried while I wrote about the hard times I've been through, must have items of the month, music, theatre, dance, depression, anxiety, sex, and you name it I've probably written about it. I hold nothing in. Free as a bird. I appreciate you guys more than anything and am so grateful to have you all to read my thoughts. I always write back to anyone that writes me and I love it. So if you have any questions, just need to talk, or have a suggestion please feel free to contact me. My beliefs are to live life to its fullest, make as many mistakes as you can or you'll never learn, always go after what you want, it is better to have tried then to have sat on your ass and watched, go after your dreams NO MATTER WHAT. It takes a thousand no's to get a yes. NEVER give up! And most importantly be yourself. Everyone is so soo wonderful in their own way. Be different. Be who you are and hold nothing back. Everyone is BEAUTIFUL.

Peace & Love

Don't You Know Who I Am

Remember My Name.......FAME!

As one of the greatest movies displaying the performing arts and if I can think, the only movie made about a Creative and Performing Arts high school, Fame is at the top of it's game. On Friday a new updated version was presented to the world. Bravo and good work! I went and saw Fame (2009) today and found it hard to sit still I wanted to get up and sing and dance so bad. Just like the original we saw talented actors, dancers, musicians, and singers trying to make there mark on the world and be the best that they can be at their craft. The most relatable and riveting thing about Fame, both versions, are the characters drive and passion for what they are doing. You don't find this much and many never experience it.

I have experienced that sort of drive and insane passion for a craft that if I wasn't the best, I would rather die. It's the greatest feeling in the world. Myself, a former attendee of Pittsburgh's Middle School for the Creative and Performing Arts, and CAPA, aka, Pittsburgh's high school for the Creative and Performing Arts, was a dedicated artist till the end. The movie is basically a duplicate of what these schools are really like. It's a liberal, energetic, passionate place. Everyone is practicing all the time, dancing in the lunch line was normal, busting out in song in an academic class was normal as well. That's just how it was, and I wouldn't have changed it no matter what. It was a magical place where kids could all come together, no one was outcast, and be one. For we all had the same dream. Success.

I don't know if any of you have loved something soo much and if you didn't do it it felt like a part of your soul was missing. I have. And I feel very blessed to have felt that way. If I close my eyes and turn on Tchaikovsky, I can still feel it. I was a dancer, and I was going to be the best god damn dancer in the world! I practiced my craft up to 7 hours a day 7 days a week. But so did all of my friends. We were some dedicated people. I remember my 8th grade graduation show and our choreography was to the song Fame. Myself and another young ballerina, came out towards the end and played the ballerina in the movie. Little did I know 7 years later I would be standing on a Broadway stage jumping up and down because I received a callback to play this character on Broadway. A dream come true(that I royally f'd up by skipping my callback because it was at the same time of my 4th American Idol callback. FML.) The worst about this "performing bug" is that you never lose it. I have been trying to get rid of it for 4 years now and I just can't seem to shake it. I guess when you dedicate yourself to an art since the age of 4 and never leave it's side, it's kind of hard to lose. And maybe it's the fact that, dancing, is really all I've ever known.

This is the biggest run on piece I have ever written but maybe it was important for me to get this out there and get back to where my heart is and do what I am supposed to be doing. Performing is my heart and soul and like I said, it's just not shaking off too well. I really hope all of you have found or have had your passion because it truly is the best feeling in the world. So what were all of your dreams? And if you aren't doing them.......what are you waiting for? Life is to short.
Peace and Love
